Canel, a beautiful 16thc restored farmhouse with pool
You will be exploring the beautiful rural region of South West France staying at Canel, in the Lot et Garonne, a sensitively restored 16thc stone farmhouse with swimming pool and direct access to woodlands, vineyards, panoramas, medieval villages, rivers and streams. The area is known for its rich biodiversity, beautiful light, fascinating heritage and good food and wine.​​​​​​​
Local food and wine
Food is plentiful and tasty, provided by local caterers; dietary requirements can be accommodated. Breakfast is continental and varied, lunch is fresh and local and dinner is a three course meal with wine. An aperitif will also be served on three evenings. Refreshments are available as and when you would like them. There will be an option of a day out with lunch and an evening meal in a local restaurant.
Comfortable work areas
There is a large comfortable room in the farmhouse which will be ours for discussion, looking at work, editing, printing, studying and relaxing. There is also a small library nook if you would like a more private space to work.
Family-owned
Canel has been run by Elsbeth and Chris, a British/ Dutch French-speaking family since 2002. The farmhouse is a beautiful setting in which to relax and rest and a great base from where to explore the region. It is also a perfect place to focus and Canel has for a number of years, been running immersive courses in painting, yoga and also, piano masterclasses. There are 9 comfortable rooms (5 ensuite, 4 with shared bathroom) available on a single or double occupancy and all linen is provided.
Prices and dates
Full board and lodging prices between €550 and €790 per person for the residency, depending on single or double occupancy and ensuite or shared bathroom. Includes 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 6 dinners and 3 aperitifs. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to confirm your residency.
One lunch and one dinner will be in a local restaurant at a reasonable price and will be at the charge of the participant (or you can choose to organise your own meals on these occasions).

Getting to and From Canel
Canel is a few kilometres from the hill top medieval village of Tournon d'Agenais in the Lot et Garonne, France.
The nearest airports are Toulouse and  Bergerac. (Bordeaux and Rodez are also options).
The nearest train stations are Cahors, Agen and Monsempron-Libos.
It is possible to hire cars and book taxis from these places (Please note: car hire is not possible from Monsempron Libos).
Partners
It is possible to bring non-participating partners. Please discuss this with Canel when you book. Your partner can walk and cycle directly from the farmhouse and there are many sites, museums, lakes and markets to visit in the area.
